This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Acabei por ser surpreendida por este livro。Ele dá-me a vibe de diversos filmes e séries e eu achei que seria uma leitura interessante。 E acabou por ser, acho que a autora tem uma escrita baste fluida o que torna a leitura bastante fácil e rápida。Houve sem dúvida algumas coisas que me surpreenderam, houve outras que já previa, no entanto não estava à espera do final que teve。Só queria que houvesse a possibilidade de a Megan ter uma vida melhor do que a que teve e do que a que terá。

It’s been a while since words on a page made my heart pound and my palms sweat, but that happened to me many times while reading The Pact。 This clever, compelling and thought-provoking story was one of the most original I’ve read lately。 I was in awe of Bolton’s ability to offer a sympathetic female protagonist without once delving into her point of view。 Instead the story is told by the others involved in the tragic deaths of an innocent mother and her two young children for which the main char It’s been a while since words on a page made my heart pound and my palms sweat, but that happened to me many times while reading The Pact。 This clever, compelling and thought-provoking story was one of the most original I’ve read lately。 I was in awe of Bolton’s ability to offer a sympathetic female protagonist without once delving into her point of view。 Instead the story is told by the others involved in the tragic deaths of an innocent mother and her two young children for which the main character is imprisoned for 20 years。 I’ve been a huge fan of S。J。/Sharon Bolton since I read her first book many years ago。 She is one of my favorite authors and one who only gets better at the craft of writing with each new book。 。。。more

3。5 stars! A good solid book。 I took off stars for two reasonsThis is a slow thriller。 It didn’t have me sitting on the edge of my seat。 There is a twist but it’s pretty easy to figure out! The positive about this book is that it is a different plot than what I’m used to in thrillers。

im sorry but that ending was so shit like did the author run out of time??? seriously shit

If you believe a lie for long enough, say 20 years, does it become the truth? To 5 friends in The Pact, it certainly seems to! To 5 friends in The Pact, it certainly seems to! They are actually a group of 6, and their characters are defined pretty clearly。 First, they are all brilliant, the “crème de la crème” of senior prefects at Oxford。 Talitha, an indifferent, commanding leader; Felix, a daredevil authoritarian; Xav, handsome and logical; Amber, naive, sweet, and alcoholic; Daniel, nerdy, submissive, yet the smartest of all; andMegan, a fairy-like mystery, a dark horse。 It’s the night before their exam results, and all are expected to make all As, moving onto Cambridge and perfect futures。The book begins with a dare- driving the wrong way at full speed down a major highway。 We learn every one of them has done it, except Daniel。 The group pushes him to do it, resulting in an unbelievable tragedy。 In a huge leap of faith, Megan agrees to take responsibility, and tells them that she will expect a favor from each of them later in life。 They agree to anything, relieved and convinced she will get off lightly, not a big deal。Until she is convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison! The book fast forwards here and we pick up with Megan leaving prison, completely changed。 She begins to enter each of their lives again, ready to cash in on her favors。 None of them want anything to do with Megan, and freely admit that she’s a murderous ex-con out to ruin their lives。The story then takes a Lord of the Flies turn for the worse and I could not put it down!I only took off a star for the ending。 Several loose ends were left hanging and I didn’t understand the murderer’s motive, because “that person had a nervous breakdown” just wasn’t really enough。I want to read more from this author though! 。。。more

Sharon Bolton always leaves me scratching my head。 When I think it’s all figured out, she throws in a tiny little bit of doubt! Love her books。 Have read everything she’s written。

WOW! Six friends make a pact in order to cover a crime。 Twenty years later the time has come to keep their word。 I had to turn from reading to listening as I couldn't keep my eyes open but I had to know what was going to happen。 Finally fell asleep, very satisfied with knowing the outcome at 4a。m。 Do not start this book just before going to bed。 WOW! I’m not done with this author, there are a couple more older stand alones I want to read。 When she is good, she’s brilliant! 。。。more

"We set events in motion that summer。 Sooner or later, they were going to catch up with us all。"Hell hath no fury。 Something that got me out of a severe reading slump。 After a series of unremarkable books, The Pact was an intense, cat and mouse game that had me guessing until the end。 This sat on my TBR list for way too long。 I will definitely be reading more from Sharon J。 Bolton in the future。 "We set events in motion that summer。 Sooner or later, they were going to catch up with us all。"Hell hath no fury。 Something that got me out of a severe reading slump。 After a series of unremarkable books, The Pact was an intense, cat and mouse game that had me guessing until the end。 This sat on my TBR list for way too long。 I will definitely be reading more from Sharon J。 Bolton in the future。 。。。more

I'd say 2。5 stars rounded up to 3。The book had a really interesting premise and it starts off with a bang。 You can understand why teenagres would agree to something like that。 However, it reads like a wasted opportunity to do something really awesome with the idea。Absolutely NONE of the characters are people you root for。 Not even Daniel。 Certainly not Megan (even though the author kinda tries to redeem her at the end。 And that ending。。。 it's not even a cliffhanger。 it's like the printer ran out I'd say 2。5 stars rounded up to 3。The book had a really interesting premise and it starts off with a bang。 You can understand why teenagres would agree to something like that。 However, it reads like a wasted opportunity to do something really awesome with the idea。Absolutely NONE of the characters are people you root for。 Not even Daniel。 Certainly not Megan (even though the author kinda tries to redeem her at the end。 And that ending。。。 it's not even a cliffhanger。 it's like the printer ran out of ink and the author just said "fuck it" and sent it to the publishers。 That was the one part I disliked the most。 I could see the twist coming a mile away as well。So why 2 start and not 1? becuase for the first 150 or 200 pages I was hooked。 But if it had been darker there at the end or not as predictable, maybe it would 3 stars (the ending alone just makes it dissappointing)。 。。。more
